As a charitable organization that advances education and research in career counselling and career development, CERIC encourages the engagement of Canada’s graduate students (full-time or part-time) whose academic focus is in career development and/or related fields through the Graduate Student Engagement Program (GSEP).

  • A chance to compete for a GSEP Award which provides free registration and up to $1,000 to cover expenses to attend and present a poster at Cannexus - Canada’s largest bilingual Career Development Conference
  • Develop professional interests by joining one of CERIC’s advisory committees
  • Have an article published in the peer-reviewed Canadian Journal of Career Development, the pre-eminent open access academic journal dedicated to multi-sectoral career development in Canada and around the world
  • Write for the CareerWise / OrientAction website, featuring the top career news and views, and the possibility to be displayed in the weekly newsletter

Who is eligible:

Full-time and part-time graduate students (Master or PhD levels) studying career counselling / career development or in a related field. Research areas such as Education, Sociology, Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business with a focus on Human Resources or Organizational Behaviour are strongly encouraged to apply.

Submission deadline: November 1, 2024

A student is interested in becoming a member of the GSEP community? The enrollment takes only a few minutes by completing and submitting the GSEP application form.

To compete for the GSEP Award, submission of a one-page article on a career development-related topic is required and can be submitted when applying or later via email to gsep@ceric.ca. Guidelines for writing the article are available here. You can also visit the GSEP corner to read past and current members outline their research or career development topics of interest. Applications and articles are due November 1, 2024.
