On behalf of the University of Windsor's Department of Sociology & Criminology and our Sociology & Criminology Graduate Student Society, we would like to extend an invitation to graduate-level students to submit abstracts for our 4th annual Graduate Conference, Bridging Ideas.

We are excited to extend this invitation to scholars from a wide range of universities and disciplines, including but not limited to Sociology, Criminology, Social Justice, Law, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Gender Studies, Health Studies, Environmental Studies, Socio-Legal Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, and other related fields. Registration is free of charge.

The Bridging Ideas Graduate Student Conference offers a unique platform for graduate students at all stages of their academic journey to present and highlight their research, engage in thoughtful discussions, receive constructive feedback, and network with both faculty members and fellow students.
 
We welcome and encourage submissions of abstracts that connect with this year’s conference theme, inviting you to interpret the theme creatively and broadly, allowing for diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work, engage in meaningful dialogue, and foster academic collaboration across fields.
 
The conference will be held on the University of Windsor Main Campus at the Freed Ormon Conference Centre (400 Huron Church Road, Windsor, Ontario N9C 2J9on Friday, March 28th, 2025 (time TBD) in a hybrid setting. The Department of Sociology & Criminology and our Graduate Student Society are pleased to have Sociologist Dr. Eloy Rivas Sanchez as our keynote speaker.
 

Our Call for Abstracts is now live, and we are eager to circulate this information to students who may be interested in submitting. Students may submit their information via the QR code located on the poster or by visiting our Bridging Ideas Call for Abstracts Survey.

Submissions will be reviewed, and students will be contacted after the Call for Abstracts deadline of Friday, February 28th, 2025. We look forward to sharing work, ideas, and research, as well as engaging in conversations and discussions with students and peers across fields from near and far!
