Palestine and Critical Pedagogy: Considerations for the Classroom

Critical Sociology Webinar 2023

The Canadian Sociological Association's Anti-Islamophobia Subcommittee hosted this event on December 6, 2023 co-sponsored by the Decolonization Subcommittee, Equity Issues Subcommittee, Student Concerns Subcommittee, and the Women's, Gender and Social Justice Association.

This webinar featured a panel of expert Palestinian scholars and educators based in Canada. Panelists explored and offered pedagogical considerations for faculty and students in building anti-colonial strategies for engaging learners on Palestine, coloniality, and the interconnected global order. Emphasizing local and global connections, this session aims to equip members of the Canadian Sociological Association, and other educators in attendance, with the sociological underpinnings necessary to activate the classroom as a decolonial space for pedagogical solidarity.
